VS series vibrating conveyors are designed for the transport of loose and bulk materials, including powders, granules, and small-lump materials.
They are particularly used for:
- dosing,
- uniform material distribution,
- discharging material from hoppers (bins),
- fully enclosed pipe transport for powdery, volatile, toxic, hot, or chemically aggressive materials.
Note: Sticky or highly moist materials are typically not suitable for transport via vibrating conveyors.
Operating Principle
Material travels from the inlet to the outlet of the trough with or without a tossing motion. The transport speed depends on the vibration amplitude and frequency specific to the material, as well as the angle of the vibrating lever arms. The angle of these lever arms is variable (adjustable).
While the standard transport direction is horizontal, special designs can accommodate an upward incline of up to 15° or steeper downward slopes.
Drive and Construction
The conveyors are driven mechanically via a crankshaft (for large units), electromagnetically, or via vibratory motors. All HERBAS vibrating conveyors are balanced, ensuring exceptionally quiet and smooth operation.
The trough (and base frame) are available in the following standard materials:
- general-purpose carbon steel S235JR,
- galvanized carbon steel S235JR + Z,
- stainless steel X5CrNi18-10 (AISI 304).
Standard models and designations
The model code consists of the series designation followed by numerical values:
Series: VS series (vibrating conveyors and screens)
Numerical Code: effective width (mm) / effective length (mm)
Example: VS 6/1.25 designates a conveyor with an effective width of 600 mm and an effective length of 1,250 mm.

Customization and delivery
The height of the conveyor trough can be adjusted using additional components. If standard dimensions do not meet your requirements, custom sizes are available upon request.
