HERBAS designs and manufactures bucket elevators with discharge heights of up to 10 m. The HVE series bucket elevators are designed for the vertical transport of various bulk materials, including powders, granules, and small-lump materials. They are not suitable for sticky materials.
The primary advantages of bucket elevators are their compact footprint and relatively simple structural design. They require a uniform material feed to prevent overloading or clogging of the system.
They are used for transporting:
- Grains and oilseeds,
- Legumes and nuts,
- Flour and semolina,
- Non-abrasive mineral raw materials, etc.
Construction and Operation
The standard HVE series design utilizes lightweight polymer buckets uniformly distributed along the traction element (conveyor belt).
Tensioning: Belt tensioning is performed at the bottom section of the elevator using a screw take-up device.
Maintenance: The base of the elevator features a drawer for easy cleaning, as well as inspection doors for monitoring the condition of the buckets.
Feeding: The inlet hopper is custom-made upon request, featuring a slide gate for material flow control.
Discharge: Material is discharged centrifugally, ejecting from the buckets due to rotational force.
Materials of Construction
Standard housing material options:
- General-purpose carbon steel S235JR,
- Galvanized carbon steel S235JR + Z,
- Stainless steel X5CrNi18-10 (AISI 304).
Food Grade Specifications
For the transport of food products, the belt and buckets are made from certified polymer materials, and the housing is constructed from stainless steel AISI 304.
Belt: Made of white PVC reinforced with polyester plies, compliant with FDA and EC standards for food industry use.
Buckets: Available in the following polymer materials compliant with FDA, EU 10/2011, and EC 1935/2004 regulations:
- Neucan PE (hardness 62° Shore D) – t_max = 60°C
- Vercan PA (hardness 72° Shore D) – t_max = 110°C
