HERBAS d.o.o. designs and manufactures custom screw conveyors according to specific requirements. Made in EU.

Screw conveyors (SC series) are designed for transporting almost all types of bulk materials:

Granular materials: grains, oilseeds, legumes, seeds, rosehip.
Fibrous materials: medicinal herbs, grasses.
Powders: flour, sugar, granules, fine-cut (TBC) herbs.

The construction is tailored to the transport conditions and the specific characteristics of the material.

Technical Specifications

Auger diameter: Φ60 – Φ400 mm.
Length: According to customer request.
ATEX version: Available upon request.
Drive: Standardly powered by a hollow shaft worm gear motor.

Trough Designs

Circular (O) or Semi-circular (U) troughs: Used for powders, small-grained materials, and inclined (steep) transport to ensure minimal clearance.
Multi-angular troughs: Specifically designed for fibrous materials and medicinal herbs.
Safety & Access: Standard covers are bolted for safety (requiring tools for disassembly). Quick-opening covers (tool-free) are available upon request.
Sealing: Optional dust-tight, water-tight, or gas-tight executions.

Materials of Construction

Standard options for the trough, auger, and hopper:

General-purpose carbon steel S235JR,
Galvanized carbon steel S235JR + Z,
Stainless steel X5CrNi18-10 (AISI 304).

Special Screw Conveyor Designs

Y-Type Bagging Screw Conveyors

A specialized design featuring an inverted Y-shaped diverter at the outlet. This allows for continuous operation, enabling operators to replace bags without stopping the flow.

Applications: Filling Big Bags, paper sacks, bins, or box-pallets.
Actuation: The diverter flap can be operated manually (lever), or automated via pneumatic/electric actuators. Automation can be triggered by level sensors, weighing scale signals, or manual push-buttons.

Screw Feeders for Sticky Materials

Feeders can be equipped with high-capacity hoppers that act as a buffer, reducing the frequency of refills and freeing up the operator for other tasks.

Agitation: These feeders utilize segmented augers for additional mixing and breaking up of material.
Anti-bridging: For high-capacity dosing or materials prone to “bridging” (forming arches), wide-body troughs with twin-screws are used. If bridging persists, additional actuators/bridge-breakers can be installed to collapse arches and ensure continuous flow.
